Do you strive for success? Throughout our lives, we all have dreams that we want to achieve. And why can’t we? Nobody should tell us we can’t choose our life’s direction. It’s time to take the bull by the horns, listen to the experts and get on the path to living your futuristic goals. Here’s some of my favourite quotes from my vision board. They’re guaranteed to start you in the right direction.

“Success is not built on success. It’s built on failure. It’s built on frustration. Sometimes it’s built on catastrophe.” — Sumner Redstone

It took me a long time to study this quote and really understanding its meaning. But, buried deep inside it is truth. What we ultimately want is success; that is our end goal. This quote reminds us that we are not going to achieve something right out of the gate. Think about when you first started to walk. You had to crawl and then walk. And, chances are, that you fell down along the way. Be prepared to fall down. You may have a few scrapes along the way or lose your direction, but get back up. Dust yourself off and start again. This quote reminds us that we should never give up.

“If you want to be the best, you have to do things that other people aren’t willing to do.” — Michael Phelps

If you want to be successful in your business, you have to study your competitors. Let’s marinate on this for a second. If you’re selling handmade scarves on Etsy, how do your scarves differ from those of other sellers? If your scarves are exactly the same, it may be wise to learn new techniques that they have not learned. This gives you the advantage over your competitors. You are offering customers something different that they can not get anywhere else.

“Thank God for the struggle just as you would thank him for the success. The struggle is only intended to strengthen you. Let it make you, not break you. A blessing is on the other side of this.” — Tony A. Gaskins, Jr.

A successful person once told me: “If God brings you to it, then God is going to bring you through it.” When we have struggles in our business, it’s easy to get down over it. But if we fall off the horse, we have to get right back on. If we let every failure bother us, success would be nothing but a pipe dream—something we aspire to but know we can’t achieve. In actuality and reality, you can achieve success. God gives us failures and stumbling blocks to help us grow, not only as individuals but as businesses. So brush each failure off and look to it as a learning experience. Then, move on and get back on your road to success. You can do it!

“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” — Walt Disney

Walt Disney loved to dream big. His dream started in the 1930s with black and white cartoons of Mickey Mouse. Think about your dreams and don’t limit yourself. Reach for the stars, just like Walt. If doubters stand in your way – trying to fill your head with thoughts that you can’t do it – guess what? Your list is growing of people you have to prove wrong. He who laughs last laughs best, they say; let yourself have that belly laugh when you achieve the unthinkable by your doubters. You can achieve anything you set your mind to; never let anything stand in your way.

“Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.” — Mark Twain

You have to work on yourself everyday, setting small goals to reach larger goals. This helps to improve your overall outlook. Spend at least an hour a day on your personal health. The progress you made on your self improvement than the day before and you have not lost anything. You have only gained traction into achieving success towards a much longer goal within your mental health.
